Dallas/ Ft. Worth Trip Part II

For some reason Percy feels that I would do a better job at telling the second part of this story (eventhough it is his story). So, here goes.
Our story today is about the power of one. One of the sister missionaries that taught Percy's family lives in the Fort Worth area. Percy had had contact with her last year, but we couldn't get a hold of her to tell her we would be in the area. We found her church building and showed up to church on Sunday hoping to see her. After telling many people our reason for being in their ward, we had everyone eagerly watching the door for "Sister Campbell" to come in. She arrived late. Afterwards we went up and talked to her and her husband. She was thrilled to see Percy again.
Sister Campbell was a greenie when she started teaching Percy and his family. She felt very uncomfortable with her Spanish, but she loved Percy and his sister. They were "golden." When she was transferred she didn't hear much. I think we all cried a little as Percy unfolded the miracles that came because of this sister: Percy and his sister both served missions and were married in the temple; Percy attended BYU and now his little sister has done the same; as a boy Percy told his best friend about the church; that friend was baptized, served a mission and was also married in the temple. We could all relate to the feelings of being a missionary and trying your best, but never really knowing if you made a difference. All you can do is hope that those new members stayed active and that you made a difference in another person's life.
It was so wonderful to be able to share this experience with Percy. If you ever get the chance to tell another person the impact that they have had on your life, I hope you will do it.
