Rodeo and Remodeling

These are two very unrelated stories, but I wanted to share both.

My mom came to visit us this year during Spring Break and we managed to make it to the Houston Rodeo. We didn't actually see the rodeo events, but we ate, walked around and waited for Percy to try to figure out how many screwdrivers could fit in a large glass box in the back of a pick-up truck. The prize wasn't even listed (you could get a truck or a giant box full of screwdrivers). Notice the size of those french fries! They were amazing! I also made everyone stop so I could get a fried Snickers bar. It was rich, but definitely an experience. We also walked around to see the animals. In the chicken coop, there was a mural on the wall behind them and it was a picture of the travels a chicken from the farm to your freezer. Who was the designer? The poor chickens that have to not only stay in this cage all day, but then they have to keep looking at this scene of what will probably happen to them one day. Which can lead to this next picture.

We were trying out some stenciling that we had seen in a model home. Percy decided to turn my blue circle into the Earth and then paint a red circle for Mars. We now have our Solar System room. I keep meaning to repaint, but we still haven't gotten around to it. Percy says that when the time comes to repaint the room for a baby we will hire someone to paint a mural of a funeral or a cemetary, so we can always be reminded of the Houston Rodeo!

Nice transition from one story to the next. Good luck growing up in that room!
